Four-vehicle Crash, Including School Bus, Shuts Down I-40 Ramp in Raleigh for Over Five Hour

RALEIGH, N.C. – An Interstate 40 ramp in Raleigh was closed for more than five hours Tuesday night due to an incident involving four vehicles, including a school bus, according to police.

Around 6:21 p.m., the Raleigh Police Department reported a crash at the I-40 eastbound ramp to Rock Quarry Road.

Police identified the four vehicles involved as a Wake County Public School System bus, a sedan, an SUV, and a pickup truck.

The drivers of the bus, car, and SUV were taken to a local hospital, according to Raleigh police. Raleigh police later reported that there were no major injuries.

Police stated that there were no students on the bus.

The NCDOT stated that the ramp reopened at 11:58 p.m.
