Good News for Fargo—Crime Down in 2024, Officials Say

North Dakota – According to the annual report that was presented to the Fargo City Commission on Monday, the rates of all major crimes reported in Fargo reduced in 2024 when compared to the rates reported in 2023.

There was a decline of 6.1% in crimes committed against individuals, a decrease of 5.1% in crimes committed against property, and a decrease of 13.3% in crimes committed against society.

Assault and domestic violence statistics have both decreased, according to Chief David Zibolski, who also explored the topic. According to the data, there has been a reduction of 15% in the number of aggravated assaults and a reduction of 5% in the number of simple attacks. In addition, Zibolski said that within these crime group classifications, there was a decrease of 43% in the number of aggravated assaults that were associated to domestic violence, and there was a decrease of 28% in the number of simple assaults that were related to domestic violence.

At the same time, the police report that there was a rise in the number of calls for service in the year 2024.
