‘Goonies’ stars are in Astoria, and coming soon to Rose City Comic Con in Portland

The Oregon-filmed movie,

“The Goonies,”

has been inspiring fans to visit the Astoria locations featured in the 1985 movie for years. In 2025, the mood is even more celebratory, since this marks the 40th anniversary of “The Goonies,” the story of a group of underdog Astoria kids going on a treasure hunt to try and save their homes.

As

The Oregonian/OregonLive has reported

, thousands of fans are expected to descend on Astoria through June 8 for this very special

“Goonies Weekend.”

Guests expected for the “40th Birthday Bash” include members of the “Goonies” cast and crew, including actors Corey Feldman, Kerri Green and Robert Davi, who are scheduled to talk about the film at a

pair of sold-out panels

on Saturday, June 7.

“Team Feldman,”

described as the official Corey Feldman fan Facebook page, has been sharing some photos of Feldman in Astoria, including images of the actor on the porch of the “Goonies” house.

If you’re not able to make it to Astoria for the 40th anniversary celebration, you have another chance to see stars of the movie.

Feldman, Green, Davi, and fellow cast members Sean Astin, Martha Plimpton, and Joe Pantoliano are scheduled to be among the celebrity guests at the

2025 Rose City Comic Con,

coming up Sept. 5-7 in Portland. For more information:
