Head-on collision kills 1 in Southeast Portland

One person is dead after a

head-on collision

near Southeast Division Street and Southeast 119th Avenue on Saturday, the Portland Police Bureau said in a news release.

Officers responded to reports of a crash just before 5 p.m., Saturday. They found one person dead at the scene of the crash and transported a second person to the hospital. Police did not immediately release the names of either person.

Police closed Southeast Division Street for several hours on Saturday while they investigated the crash, but reopened the roadway around 9:30 p.m.
