After-school care will continue starting at early release times in “the coolest areas available inside the school for enrolled students,” the district said.

All campuses in Portland Public Schools are releasing students after a half-day schedule on Monday, regardless of whether their buildings have cooling systems or not, and the district canceled all of its regularly scheduled afterschool programs.
And the Parkrose School District announced that it was canceling all afterschool programming due to the heat.
Temperatures in the region are expected to reach as high as 95 degrees Fahrenheit Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
