Hit-and-Run Driver Hits 15-Year-Old Boy in South LA

The driver of a vehicle that struck a youngster who was riding a bicycle and then fled the scene of the accident in South Los Angeles was taken to the hospital. The boy was 15 years old.

Sebastian Carillo is seen bicycling home from school on the 2100 block of Nadeau Street at approximately 3:30 p.m. on April 7, according to footage captured by surveillance cameras.

When the youngster was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk, the driver of a BMW car abruptly made a sharp turn to the right and directly collided with the boy’s bicycle.

As a result of the incident, the little child was thrown from his bicycle and onto the bonnet of the BMW before he fell to the ground. After moving ahead a few feet, the driver came to a total stop for a brief period of time before accelerating away.

A bystander can be seen racing over to assist Sebastian, while two other witnesses are seen running toward the street in order to take photographs and video of the automobile that is attempting to flee.

After receiving medical attention for his injuries, he was taken to the hospital, where he was given eight sutures in his mouth. Also, he is having difficulty talking with others.

“He remembers coming from school and just seeing the car going towards him,” Eric Carillo, the boy’s father, said to Carlos Saucedo of KTLA. “He does not remember anything else.”

Despite the fact that the inquiry into what caused the collision is still ongoing, Eric is of the opinion that his son may have been the target of an unprovoked attack.

Authorities from the California Highway Patrol in South Los Angeles are conducting an investigation into the matter, and they have stated that they have not ruled out the potential that the hit-and-run was intentional.

During the course of Sebastian’s ongoing recovery, his father expressed that it is extremely distressing to witness his son’s suffering.

Eric expressed his frustration by saying, “It’s frustrating seeing my son at home, not wanting to go outside, and just in pain.” I only want justice to be served for my son. Not even going to school is something he wants to do anymore. It’s a shame. I have no idea what kind of driver we have out there who is hitting individuals who are riding bicycles.

Officers said that the suspect was operating a black BMW car from the year 2025 with four doors. If you have any information on this investigation, please contact the California Highway Patrol at (424) 551-4000.
