Two people were found dead in a house that had caught fire in Miami Gardens a few days ago. Police have now confirmed that it was a murder-suicide.
Early on May 7, a fire broke out at a house near Northwest 19th Avenue and 185th Terrace. Ronda Spencer-Fordham and Tim Fordham were found dead inside.
Tamonjamin Williams, the couple’s nephew, got out of a different living area in the back of the house and made it out alive. He is not a suspect or someone the police are asking, they said.
Thursday, Miami Gardens police revealed that it was a murder-suicide in the home.
They had been married for almost 20 years, according to family.
“She was kind, loving, and caring,” Ronda’s sister Jamie Spencer said. “Her church family is hurting, her coworkers are hurting, her classmates are hurting, we’re hurting.”
Fun fact: Glaze Williams left flowers at Spencer’s house Thursday night. She met Spencer through her sister. She thinks that her friend was hurt.
Williams said, “I’m speechless, I don’t have words, I don’t know what to say.” It breaks my heart to hear that because you should never want to kill yourself or anyone else.
Police said they are still looking into what happened and haven’t found out what caused the fire.
