‘I Know How This Works’: Mom in Drunken Crash With Kids Works for State Transportation Department

A mom in New Jersey is facing multiple criminal charges after she is said to have crashed her car while she was drunk and her kids were inside.

Megan Fackler, 39, was caught on camera by Ewing Township police on Oct. 5, 2024, after they went to the scene of a car accident. It is said that Fackler was driving an SUV that crashed into a box truck. When the cops asked her questions, she spoke slowly and didn’t seem to know which way she had been going.

Even though Fackler fought it at first, he finally agreed to take a field sobriety test. After some time, it was said that her blood alcohol level was.371, which is more than four times the legal limit.

Transparency Bodycam got the new bodycam video and put it on YouTube. In it, Fackler can be heard telling the police, “I work for the DOT, I know how this works.”

According to reports from WPVI, an ABC station in Philadelphia that covers parts of New Jersey, Fackler works for the New Jersey Department of Transportation. A source told the station that she is still working there.

During her time with the cops, Fackler says she is getting a divorce and lodging with her brother. When the cops told her that there were “empty wine bottles in the back” of her car, she tried to say that they were from “weeks ago.”

Court records received and showed that Fackler’s three children were taken to the hospital after the crash. Once the bodycam video was uploaded to Transparency Bodycam, one of the girls, whose face was blurred, told police, “We’re all okay, thank you.” when they asked if anyone was hurt.

After Fackler was arrested, he was taken to the police station and given a breath test. On top of that, she was given other tickets and charged with DUI and three counts of endangering the welfare of a kid.
