ICE Cracks Down on Criminal Migrants in Sanctuary City with Major Raid

gobigbluecountry.com reports that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem joined an ICE raid in New York City. The operation targeted violent offenders hiding in sanctuary cities.

The raid led to the arrest of Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, a 25-year-old Venezuelan migrant linked to the Tren de Aragua gang and wanted for violent crimes in Colorado.

Noem criticized sanctuary city policies, urging local governments to cooperate with federal authorities to better prosecute and deport criminal offenders.

Noem wrote, “Just now. Enforcement operation in NYC. A criminal alien with kidnapping, assault & burglary charges is now in custody – thanks to @ICE,” adding, “Dirtbags like this will continue to be removed from our streets.”

ICE reported nearly 1,200 arrests in one day and issued over 850 detainers. DHS also removed 7,300 illegal immigrants in the first week of the Trump administration. Noem said, “We are picking up the worst of the worst in this country that are making our streets so dangerous.”

Noem added, “The community is safer now. That’s the reality of it.”

The operation targeted individuals charged with murder, kidnapping, assault, and burglary. Deportation flights were sent to Mexico, Jordan, Brazil, and El Salvador.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has softened his stance on sanctuary city policies, expressing willingness to work with ICE on deporting violent criminals. Noem said, “We need mayors and governors partnering with us, but we will do our job regardless of that.”

Noem added, We will continue to go forward and identify those folks and get them out.”

Noem concluded, “We’ve sent a message clearly to the world: ‘Don’t come here. If you’re an illegal and if you’re dangerous, we have a target on you, and you will not be welcome and we will remove you.’”
