Immanuel Quickley Named SEC Player of the Week for First Time

Kentucky sophomore guard Immanuel Quickley has been named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for his performances in wins vs. Georgia and Alabama.

Quickley averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in the two wins. He connected on 8-of-9 three-point attempts. The honor is the first of Quickley’s career.

Quickley has been the Wildcats sixth man and is providing a spark off the bench. He led Kentucky in scoring with 19 points vs. Alabama and added 15 in the win vs. Georgia.

When the Wildcats needed him most, the sharpshooting sophomore was there to drain a big shot. With Kentucky leading Alabama 71-67 with 1:01 to play, Quickley drained a three-pointer to extend the Kentucky lead to seven and then hit a pair of free throws in the final minute to seal the fourth consecutive win.

During the four game winning streak, Quickley has connected on 14-of-23 three-point attempts. He made 8 consecutive three-pointers from the Missouri game to the second half vs. Alabama.
