John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats travel to Starkville this weekend, in search of their first win since November 25.

Today marks 36 days since Kentucky’s last win, the longest the Wildcats have waited between two wins in a single season.

Freshman forward Isaiah Jackson spoke with UK media Thursday morning to preview the matchup with Mississippi State and to discuss what the Wildcats need to focus on to get things right.

Jackson said he and some of his teammates have deleted social media to separate themselves from the noise and focus on the task at hand.

“I actually deleted social media,” said Jackson. “A lot of the guys on the team have too. So, I haven’t been looking at it. But after we lost a couple, I mean, they’ve (the fans) been on us. That’s something that, I feel them, but at the same time we’re just young and we’re still trying to work to come together as a team. It’s just going to take time. As the ball gets to rolling, they’re going to be surprised. We’re going to surprise a lot of people.”

Jackson admitted that Kentucky’s 1-6 start to the season is surprising, even to him, but after a solid week of practice, the 6-foot-10 forward believes the Wildcats are ready for league play.

“I would have told them they were lying (when asked about if someone told him Kentucky would be 1-6 to start the season), but this is where we are as a team. I mean, league starts Saturday, so I feel like that’s a fresh start for us. These are the games that truly honestly count, in my opinion, to build on to when we get into March Madness, winning the league and things like that. We had a good week of practice this whole week. We’re practicing real hard. I feel like we’re ready.”
