John Calipari issued a challenge to Charles Barkley on the outcome of the Kentucky/Auburn football game Saturday afternoon.
Barkley, who starred for Auburn basketball from 1981-84, doesn’t believe Kentucky has a chance at beating the Tigers in the season opener.
“Oh, listen, things are never that bad — we’re going to kill Kentucky,” Barkley said during an appearance on Monday Night Football when Kirk Herbstreit mentioned the matchup between UK and Auburn. “I’m worried about Georgia the next week. Come on, man. This is not basketball. We’re not going to worry about Kentucky in football. Stop it, Herbie.”
Calipari responded Tuesday night during the TNT Pregame Show ahead of Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.
The UK coach says if Auburn beats Kentucky Saturday, he will shave his beard.
“Auburn ain’t winning that game, Kentucky is winning that game.”
John Calipari and Charles Barkley trash talk about the UK/Auburn Football game coming up this Saturday.
