The Kentucky Wildcats suffered a 68-66 loss to Vanderbilt to close the season at Rupp Arena Wednesday night.

Kentucky was forced to play most of the second half without star point guard Cason Wallace, who suffered a lower left leg injury. Wallace was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Kentucky coach John Calipari provided an update on Wallace after the game.

“First of all, Cason, they X-rayed, he’s fine,” Calipari said. It’s not swollen. We’ll see. I’m hoping he’ll be okay for Saturday but I don’t know. And if not, we’ve got to figure out how we do it against pressure.”

In addition to Wallace, Kentucky was also without Sahvir Wheeler, who hasn’t played since Kentucky’s win vs. Florida at Rupp Arena in early February. Calipari said Wheeler had a minor procedure performed Wednesday that forced him to miss Senior Night.

“My guess right now, and what the doctors told me, it’s going to be a couple of weeks, or at least that’s what they think,” said Calipari. “So, this is what we have right now.”

Kentucky will close the regular season Saturday at Arkansas.
