Kansas is now tied with Kentucky for the most wins in men’s college basketball history with 2,353 victories.
The Jayhawks defeated Creighton 79-72 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday to advance to the Sweet Sixteen, tying Kentucky along the way.
Kentucky’s first-round loss to Saint Peter’s opened the door for Kansas to finally catch up.
Kentucky held a 19-game lead on Kansas entering the 2019-20 season. But the Jayhawks made up the 19 game difference in three years, including a +12 advantage during the 9-16 season last year.
