Kentucky freshman guard Keldon Johnson has been named SEC Freshman of the Week following victories vs. Winthrop and Tennessee State.

Johnson led the Wildcats in scoring at 20.0 points per game in both wins, adding 7.0 rebounds per game.

The freshman delivered the best scoring performance by a UK player this season when he scored 27 points vs. Tennessee State. He knocked down 7-of-15 shots, including 13 free throws, the second highest total for a Calipari-coached player at UK.

The honor is the first for Johnson and first for Kentucky this season. The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET. vs. Monmouth at Rupp Arena.
