Kentucky Cheer Placed 3rd in UCA Nationals

The University of Kentucky cheerleaders placed third in the Universal Cheerleading Association Nationals. UCF finished first while Alabama finished second.

This is the first time since 2015 the Wildcats didn’t win the national championship.

Kentucky always sets the bar high with a difficult, challenging routine. However, two drops in Sunday nights routine placed them in third.

The four year streak of national championships was the second longest in program history. From 1995-2002, Kentucky ran off 8 straight national championships.

Since 1985, the year Kentucky won their first cheerleading national championship, the Wildcats have only failed to win it all twelve times.

Kentucky has won titles in 1987, 1988, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Kentucky will look to win title number 25 next year. I feel sorry for everyone next year because there’s no doubt this will fuel the Wildcats to get back on top.
