John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats should be the most improved team in college basketball this season.
After a 9-16 season that resulted in missing the NCAA Tournament, Kentucky is a popular pick to bounce back to their winning ways in 2021-22.
Calipari’s roster is loaded with experience via returning players Keion Brooks Jr., Jacob Toppin, Davion Mintz, Dontaie Allen, and Lance Ware, to go along with transfers Oscar Tshiebwe (West Virginia), Kellan Grady (Davidson), C.J. Fredrick (Iowa), and Sahvir Wheeler (Georgia).
Kentucky also added three key freshmen in TyTy Washington, Daimion Collins, and Bryce Hopkins.
Athlon Sports released their preseason Top 25 for the 2021-22 season, where Kentucky is a top ten team. The Wildcats check in at No. 9 in the rankings, making them the highest-ranked team in the SEC.
Tennessee (No. 18), Alabama (No. 20), and Auburn (No. 25) were the other SEC teams to make the list. You can check out the entire Athlon Sports Preseason Top 25 at the link below.
