Kentucky Offers 2021 Five-Star Center that was a Target of Jai Lucas

Now that Paolo Banchero is on his way to Duke, Kentucky is in search of a big man target for the 2021 class.

Wednesday night, five-star center Daimion Collins announced a scholarship offer from John Calipari and Kentucky.

This could be the first connection to result from Jai Lucas, the Texas assistant coach likely to be announced as Kentucky’s recruiting coordinator next week. Lucas is the primary recruiter for Collins at Texas.

The Atlanta, Texas, product stands 6-foot-9 and is rated the No. 22 player in the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

Earlier this week, Corey Evans of Rivals joined the Kentucky Daily podcast to discuss Kentucky basketball recruiting and the possibility that Collins would earn an offer from the Wildcats. Evans described Collins as “Isaiah Jackson [Kentucky freshman forward] on steroids,” when asked about the 6-foot-9 center.

You can listen to the episode in the player below. Evans mentions Collins around the 14-minute mark of the episode.
