Kentucky quarterback Beau Allen is entering the transfer portal, he announced Wednesday on social media.
The former in-state recruit spent the last two years in Lexington as the No. 2 or No. 3 quarterback on the roster.
Allen’s departure means Kaiya Sheron or Deuce Hogan will backup starting quarterback Will Levis this season.
The news also means that Kentucky will likely explore the transfer portal beyond this season to find a replacement for Levis after the 2022 season.
Building depth at the quarterback position will be a key focus for the UK coaching staff moving into the 2023 season.
