The season ended sooner than we all expected and Kentucky is already active in the transfer portal.
Fardaws Aimaq, a transfer from Utah Valley, entered the transfer portal Friday. The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie reported on Friday had entered the portal.
According to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, Kentucky is on the long list of schools to reach out to him.
The center averaged 18.9 points, 13.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game for Utah Valley this season. He totaled 27 double-doubles this season.
Aimaq played his freshman season at Mercer before transferring to Utah Valley in 2019.
Travis Branham of 247Sports reports that Aimaq will declare for the NBA Draft and explore his options there before returning to school. If school is the choice, what is Aimaq searching for?
“Somewhere where I’ll be on the biggest stage with a great team where we can make a run,” Aimaq told Branham.
Utah Valley transfer Fardaws Aimaq has heard from Kentucky, Gonzaga, West Virginia, Texas, Texas Tech, Florida, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Wazzu, Miami, Marquette, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, sources told @Stockrisers.
