Kentucky Signee Tyler Herro Rocks Devin Booker Jersey

Ever since Tyler Herro signed with Kentucky last November, fans have raved about his talent and skillset that reminds them of Devin Booker. The future Wildcat has said multiple times that he has modeled his game after Booker and during an interview with KSR’s Tyler Thompson, he said Booker’s trainer is working on scheduling a workout for the two to meet.

Fans are not alone in making the comparison between the two. 247 Sports director of recruiting Evan Daniels told the Herald Leader’s Ben Roberts that he can see a little bit of Booker in Herro’s game. Daniels said the following to Roberts in a story earlier this month.

“I think I could see that some,” said Daniels. “They’re similar size. They’re similar athletic ability and similar games. I think we probably didn’t give Devin as much credit as he deserved in terms of his footwork, his skill, and ability to score. I think he was kind of looked at as a shooter. And I think that’s the same with Tyler.”

Herro didn’t participate in last weeks McDonald’s All-American game after being snubbed when the selections were made. However, that didn’t stop him from turning up the heat on opponents down the stretch of his senior season for Whitnall High School.

In all, the sharpshooter averaged 32.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game during his senior season. Herro will definitely be welcomed by John Calipari after he shot 43 percent from the beyond the three-point line this season, something the Wildcats desperately need to improve going into next season.

Along with the fans and media, Herro has joined in on the comparisons to Booker. On Tuesday, the UK signee tweeted out a picture of him wearing Booker’s Phoenix Suns jersey. The jersey looks good on him but I’m sure the Big Blue Nation wants to see him in a Kentucky one first.
