While Kentucky dropped out of the USA Today Coaches Poll Sunday, they held onto a spot in the Week 3 AP Poll.
The Wildcats remain at No. 23 in the country, meaning the season opener vs. Auburn (No. 8, tied with Texas) on Saturday will feature two Top 25 teams.
Unlike the Coaches Poll, Big Ten teams weren’t eligible to be included in the AP Poll this week. There was some movement in the poll with Miami jumping five spots to No. 12 after a win at Louisville Saturday night. The Cardinals dropped six spots to No. 24, one place behind Kentucky.
The SEC has eight teams ranked inside the Top 25 this week: Alabama (2), Georgia (4), Florida (5), LSU (6), Auburn (8), Texas A&M (10), Tennessee (16), and Kentucky (23).
