Kentucky’s Railroad Tour could be the Start of Something Special

The Last Time Kentucky went on a Railroad Tour was after the 2012 NCAA Title

The 2018-19 Kentucky men’s basketball team got their first taste of the Big Blue Nation on Sunday.

The entire team, along with the coaching staff, took a train ride that made stops in Frankfort, Midway, and Lexington. The first stop was for the Satellite Tour and the last two were to sign autographs and greet fans.

The railroad tour was put together by John Calipari last week and he did so because he wants the team to understand what it means to be apart of Big Blue Nation. Even though it was last minute, a large number of fans showed up.

This isn’t the first time Calipari has took his team on a railroad tour. In fact, Calipari and the 2012 team took the NCAA Championship trophy around the state after winning the programs 8th title.

Since landing Reid Travis last Wednesday, Calipari has said that he’s going to spend extra time trying to build something special. Well, it would be pretty special if this season ends with another train ride around the state with a 9th NCAA trophy.
