Grant Napear, the Sacramento Kings play-by-play announcer, was placed on administrative leave by his radio station after a reply on Twitter to DeMarcus Cousins.
On Sunday night, Cousins tweeted at Napear to ask him what he thought about Black Lives Matter. Napear replied, “ALL LIVES MATTER…EVERY SINGLE ONE!!!”
Cousins replied, “Lol as expected.”
The Sacramento Kings and NBC Sports California released a statement on the comments by Napear.
Napear apologized in an interview with Marcos Breton Monday morning.
“I’m not as educated on BLM as I thought I was,” Napear said. “I had no idea that when I said ‘All Lives Matter’ that it was counter to what BLM was trying to get across.”
