The Pearl District will house Portland’s largest overnight-only homeless shelter to date, according to city authorities.
According to city spokesperson Rob Layne, the city has started the process of converting the Sturgeon Development Partners-owned facility at 1435 Northwest Northrup Street into a shelter for 200 people at night after signing a lease for it.
