The Kentucky Wildcats started the 2021 season on a positive note Saturday, defeating ULM 45-10 at Kroger Field.

Will Levis was as good as advertised in his Kentucky debut, completing 18-of-26 passes for 367 yards and four touchdowns.

ULM grabbed an early 7-0 lead after Levis’ first pass of the game deflected off the hands of Josh Ali for an interception. The UK quarterback quickly settled in on the next drive, delivering a beautiful ball to Wan’Dale Robinson for a 33-yard touchdown strike to even the score.

Kentucky took the lead on a 58-yard bomb from Levis to Ali with 4:20 remaining in the first quarter and never looked back. Levis added touchdown throws to Robinson (15-yards) and Brenden Bates (4-yards).

Robinson also had an impressive debut in blue and white, hauling in 5 catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Ali joined Robinson in the 100-yard category (5 catches, 136 yards), the first time he’s surpassed 100-yards in a game in his career.

The last time UK had two wide receivers go over 100-yards receiving in the same game was 2011 when Matt Roark and La’Rod King accomplished it vs. Ole Miss.

Defensively, Kentucky was led by Josh Paschal with seven tackles, including two for a loss and a sack. DeAndre Square added 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack on six total tackles. Four Kentucky players (Paschal, Square, Jordan Wright, and Yusuf Corker) finished with a quarterback sack, while J.J. Weaver recorded two.
