Last week, photos from Kentucky’s 1978 national championship began to pop up on social media and it was fascinating to see the large crowds that showed up at the airport to welcome the team home. The picture that popped up yesterday is even better because it is from the Wildcats first NCAA title in 1948.
The following image popped up on Twitter yesterday and it shows 15,000+ UK fans at Union Station to greet the team when they returned from New York. Adolph Rupp and the Wildcats were welcomed by the fans when the stepped off the train. The area was so crowded that it forced people to the rooftops.
