A man who was captured on camera assaulting a pregnant woman outside of an apartment complex in Montgomery County was taken into custody by the police.
Raymond Bautista, age 36, from Allentown, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault of an unborn child, simple assault, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person. Simple assault was also brought against him.
According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday, April 24, at approximately 4:30 a.m., in front of an apartment complex located in the 2000 block of Maple Avenue in Hatfield Township.
A video taken by Christopher Stevens’ Ring camera shows a man wearing a mask and gloves, sprinting and leaping towards a woman, and then kicking her in the back. The man is clad in full black. At the same time that the man continues to kick and strike her, the woman screams.
According to Stevens, “I was roused from my sleep by the sound of a terrible scream coming from outside.” On the surface, it appears that it took place in a span of twenty seconds. The speed was so quick.
Before the cops came, the man in the mask ran away from the scene.
Outside of her apartment building in Hatfield, Montgomery County, a local woman was severely attacked from behind. The attack took place around the corner. A neighbor whose surveillance camera witnessed the assault was interviewed by Aaron Baskerville of NBC10, who reported on the incident.
Stevens stated that the individual was wearing a black face mask and that he proceeded to pass by the front door. It appeared as though he moved to the corner next to the steps in order to conceal himself.
It was eventually determined by the police that Bautista was the suspect. It was a judge who arraigned him and set his bail at $75,000 unsecured. He was arrested and arraigned before the judge. March 7, 2025 is the day that has been set for his preliminary hearing.
In spite of the fact that they stated that it was a targeted attack, the police did not disclose Bautista’s relationship with the victim. The pregnant woman is also the victim.
Police are continuing their investigation even though Bautista is currently in detention.
Call the Hatfield Police Department at the number 215-855-0903 if you have any information regarding the incident.
Court records that are accessible online do not include any names of legal representatives who could speak on behalf of Bautista.
