A 36-year-old guy is in the hospital recovering from injuries he got in an accident on an I-94 exit ramp in Detroit on Sunday afternoon.
Michigan State Police say the man from Detroit was going too fast on the westbound side of the road as he tried to get off at the Livernois Avenue exit ramp.
When the man lost control of the car, it went into the open area next to the ramp and hit a concrete median. Officials say he was taken to the hospital to get medical care.
Police say it looks like the man wasn’t wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened. The crash is still being looked into.
“No one wants to hear that a loved one was hurt in a car accident that could have been avoided,” said MSP 1st Lieutenant Mike Shaw. “It is even worse when the crash falls on a holiday.”
