Matthew Mitchell Recovering from Successful Brain Surgery

Kentucky women’s basketball coach Matthew Mitchell is recovering from brain surgery, his wife, Jenna, announced on Facebook Saturday.

“About four months ago, he fell and suffered a concussion, was not well for a couple of weeks, then great after that,” Jenna Mitchell wrote on Facebook. “Then, about two weeks he went to the hospital with a faint but persistent headache, and they discovered he had blood on the brain, and he needs surgery (subdural hematoma). All went well, and he is on the mend! We are so grateful to Dr. Brian Adkins, all the great staff at UK ER, and Dr. Craig Van Horne and his team of neurology professionals.”

Glad to hear Mitchell is recovering. Be sure to remember him in your thoughts and prayers.
