Michelle Trachtenberg’s Cause of Death Officially Confirmed

A little over two months after the actress Michelle Trachtenberg was discovered dead in her apartment in New York City, the cause of death has at long last been disclosed.

According to People magazine and NBC News on Wednesday, the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner stated that the “Buffy” star passed away due to complications resulting from diabetes mellitus. It was reported by the outlet that the cause of death has been determined to be natural.

According to the National Institutes of Health, diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease that occurs when there is insufficient management of the levels of glucose in the blood system. Diabetes can be broken down into a number of subtypes, such as type 1, type 2, maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY), gestational diabetes, neonatal diabetes, and steroid-induced diabetes.

The actress was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in a Manhattan flat at eight o’clock in the morning on February 26, according to the authorities. Her death was confirmed at the scene of the incident. She has reached the age of 39.

The day after her passing, her family reportedly raised objections to the idea of conducting an autopsy, which would have resulted in the determination of her cause of death being deemed “undetermined.”

According to insiders who spoke to People magazine after her passing, the actress had recently undergone a liver transplant and “may have experienced complications due to the procedure.”

Trachtenberg was said to have been “really really down emotionally” and to have “told friends she was struggling” throughout the course of the previous year, according to another information.

Trachtenberg became well-known as a child actress, appearing in a variety of commercials and television shows, such as “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” on Nickelodeon and “All My Children,” a soap opera. She made her debut in a significant film role in the year 1996’s “Harriet the Spy.”

The decade of the 2000s saw her rise to prominence thanks to two important roles in extremely famous television shows: first, she played Dawn Summers in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and then, later, she played Georgina Sparks in “Gossip Girl.”
