A mother and her four children were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 in McIntosh County Sunday.
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Christopher Ashdown, a Jeep Cherokee was driving south near mile marker 62 when it rear-ended an Infiniti car around 6 a.m.
The truck drove into the left lane, collided with a guard post, and then exploded into flame.

Reagan Dougan, 27, was driving with her three children, ages three months, two, four, and nine. Ashdown declined to reveal the children’s identities.
According to Ashdown, the Jeep Cherokee was rented in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the family was on its way to an unknown destination in Florida. Ashdown was unable to provide information about Dougan and his children’s residence.
The driver of the Infiniti, who has yet to be identified, was taken to a Brunswick hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Ashdown.
