New, limited parking passes will be required for Sauvie Island beaches this summer

Traffic near the beaches can be terrible, as anyone who has attempted to drive to Sauvie Island on a bright summer Saturday knows.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife said Friday that a new, restricted parking pass will be required for all vehicles parking at Sauvie Island beaches on weekends and holidays in an effort to reduce traffic congestion this summer.
