A record-breaking season continues to lead to success on the recruiting trail for Nick Mingione and the Kentucky Wildcats. On Thursday afternoon, Jack Hicks announced his commitment to Kentucky via his Twitter account.

Hicks is a 6-1, 165lbs shortstop from Raleigh, NC., where he is entering his sophomore year at Leesville Road High School. The Wildcat coaching staff is zeroing in on talent early, as Hicks is a member of the 2020 recruiting class.

Hicks is one of the best young prospects in the state of North Carolina, where he was ranked as high as No. 5 for the class of 2020. This past season for Leesville, Hicks posted a .405 average with 17 hits, including 13 singles and 4 doubles. The UK commit added 17 RBI, 17 walks, and 10 stolen bases.

Hicks plays his summer league action for the Dirtbags, a prestigious travel team that has produced over 800 college signees. Hicks owns a .410 batting average with a .545 (OBP) while slugging .561.

Judging by stats, Hicks appears to be one of the best young hitting prospects in the country. The accolades are yet to roll in, but if he continues to post solid numbers, the honors will come.

BANG! Welcome to the Family, Jack!
