The New York Police Department is turning to the public for assistance in capturing a man connected with a violent crime in Brooklyn.
The suspect is wanted for a combination of charges that comprise assault, robbery, and an attempted rape that occurred yesterday.
The incident was reported to have taken place in the vicinity of Montague Street and Henry Street, where the victim was forcibly led into a basement stairwell by an unidentified male assailant.
In that stairwell, the victim suffered physical assault and narrowly escaped an attempted sexual violation.
After the assault, the assailant robbed the victim’s possessions and made his escape.

The NYPD 84th Precinct is spearheading the investigation and urgently seeking leads.
Being serious about engaging community members in their pursuit, they’ve reached out via Facebook to encourage eyewitnesses or anyone with information to step forward.
A reward of up to $3,500 has been declared for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible.
The official NYPD Crimestoppers post detailed the harrowing ordeal, stating that “the individual then forcibly removed her property and fled the scene.” The police are urging anyone with information to call 800-577-TIPS or to submit a tip anonymously through their online portal.
