One Person Killed in Early Morning Single-Vehicle Accident in Vista, Road Temporarily Closed

The crash of a single automobile into a tree that occurred on Saturday evening in Vista resulted in the death of one individual.

The Vista sheriff’s substation reports that a car was involved in a collision with a tree after it was unable to successfully make a right turn near the intersection of N. Santa Fe Drive and N. Paseo Marguerita. The man who was driving the automobile, who was thirty years old, exited the vehicle and fled the scene.

After a little more than an hour had passed, deputies responded to a complaint regarding a person who was unconscious on the 200 block of Apollo Drive, which is also located in the city of Vista. As soon as they arrived, they established that the individual who was unconscious was the person who was driving the sedan.

The Vista station issued a statement that read, “Unfortunately, the individual passed away as a result of their injuries.” Investigators from the Traffic Division of the Vista Sheriff’s Station and the Medical Examiner’s Office are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.

However, the driver has not been recognised as of yet.

Whether or not drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision is another question that investigators are looking into.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office can be reached at (858) 565-5200, and San Diego County Crime Stoppers can be reached at (888) 580-8477. Anyone who may have observed the collision or captured the incident on film is urged to phone either of these numbers in order to remain anonymous.
