ORLANDO, Fla – Authorities in Florida say they have apprehended a man suspected of killing his wife in a domestic incident earlier this week.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Lamar Bryant has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Takeshia Eads (42). Family members have requested that news outlets use her maiden name.
The sheriff’s office stated that the investigation began when deputies responded to a shooting at a home on Livingston Street Tuesday evening.
Authorities said they discovered a woman, later identified as Takeshia Eads, with a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to a nearby hospital, but she did not survive.
According to WESH, Eads was a mother of four, and other family members may have been there when the shooting occurred.
Investigators revealed that Eads had recently filed for divorce from Bryant, but he refused to sign the papers.
The couple had apparently been married for over a decade.
Loved ones described Eads as a selfless woman who constantly assisted those she cared about.
Bryant is being held without bond after his initial court appearance on Thursday, according to WOFL.
