Oregon softball caps 2025 with best finish in polls since 2018

Oregon softball capped the 2025 season with its best finish in the polls in seven years.

The Ducks (54-10, 19-3 Big Ten), who were eliminated by Oklahoma in the Women’s College World Series, are No. 5 with 643 points in the

NFCA poll

and No. 6 with 503 points in the

USA Softball

poll.

That’s up from No. 6 and No. 11, respectively, entering the postseason. UO also finished No. 14 in adjusted RPI, up from No. 17 on Selection Sunday.

It’s Oregon’s best finish in the polls since 2018, the last time it went to the WCWS.

The Ducks will have to replace three of their best players this offseason as All-American center fielder Kedre Luschar, Golden Boot Award winner Kai Luschar and 2024 Gold Glove shortstop Paige Sinicki end their careers. Outfielder Dez Patmon and Staci Chambers, UO’s lone left-hander pitcher, also completed their eligibility.

Oregon’s 2026 conference schedule features home series with Penn State, Iowa, Washington and Ohio State and road series against Purdue, Northwestern, Maryland and UCLA.
