In the 2026 recruiting class, Oregon State baseball will have two Barneys.
Shortstop Kyson Barney committed to the Beavers on Friday. First baseman Kael, his identical twin brother, also committed to OSU, following his own.
I am grateful to all of the coaches who have supported me during this lengthy trip. GO BEAVS!@CoachChilds1010@JtrRodgers@wcsNHSBaseball@_HuntMartinpic.twitter.com/gEdspAXWXM @Will_Haynie24@JoeyKawikaWong
Born in Nolensville, Tennessee, Barney is a right-handed infielder who weighs 188 pounds and is 6 feet 5 inches tall. Despite being left-handed and having the same height, his brother excels at first base.
The Barney twins posted on their shared Instagram account, “We can never thank enough those who have believed in us and sacrificed to help us through the years, coaches, family, friends, and parents.” The fact that we will both be Beavers is a dream come true. We appreciate OSU providing us with this chance.
The Barneys are among OSU’s 11 players in its 2026 recruiting class.
This also includes right-handed pitcher Julian Sabourin (Ontario, Canada), right-handed pitcher Everett Burdett (Albuquerque, New Mexico), right-handed pitcher Keegan Matson (Redmond, Washington), catcher Deegan Rose (Clovis, California), outfielder Blake Bowen (Riverside, California), right-handed pitcher Grady Saunders (Springfield), and third baseman Josh Nati (New South Wales, Australia).
