The Beavers and Seminoles have delivered an entertaining, competitive and well-played series so far, as the first two games have been separated by a combined two runs. The Beavers have held a lead for just three innings, the Seminoles have done so for eight innings and the rest have been tied, a reflection of the razor-thin margin between the clubs, who have have showcased exceptional pitching, clutch late-game hitting and superb defense in Corvallis.
The Beavers unleashed an all-time comeback in Game 1, scoring three ninth-inning runs to force extra innings before winning on a walk-off single in the 10th. They were down to their last strike in the ninth.
A night later, Florida State overcame an early 1-0 deficit and prevailed during a pitcher’s duel between Jamie Arnold and Ethan Kleinschmit, scoring a go-ahead run in the seventh and an insurance run in the eighth. Both came with two outs.

Probable starters:
OSU RHP James DeCremer (3-0, 4.73) vs. FSU LHP Wes Mendes (7-2, 4.66)
This and that:
Neither team has announced a starting pitcher, but the Beavers are likely to start either Eric Segura or James DeCremer. Segura took over as the team’s Friday night starter in May after pitching in a
“piggyback” role
most of the season. He had a rough postseason debut in the regional round — Saint Mary’s chased him in the first inning — but rebounded to pitch well out of the bullpen in an elimination win Monday against USC. … DeCremer made his second career start in that win and sparkled, tossing five shutout innings to earn the win. … (PREGAME UPDATE: DeCremer will start) … Mendes is the Seminoles’ Sunday starter and the 6-foot-1 sophomore is coming off an impressive win over Mississippi State in the Tallahassee Regional, where he allowed two runs on five hits, while striking out nine, over eight innings. … Oregon State is no stranger to elimination games. After suffering that loss to Saint Mary’s in the Corvallis Regional opener, it won four elimination games in three days to advance in the NCAA baseball tournament. The Beavers are 10-4 in elimination games under coach Mitch Canham. … Oregon State pitchers recorded 14 strikeouts in Saturday’s loss, breaking the program’s single-season record. The Beavers now have 637 this season, nine more than the 2022 club. … After bashing 15 home runs in five regional games, Oregon State has not hit any against the Seminoles. It’s just the third time this season the Beavers have gone two games without a homer — they have not had a three-game homerless streak this season. … OSU senior catcher Wilson Weber owns a season-long eight-game hitting streak, during which he’s hitting .412 (14 for 34) with three homers, five doubles and 12 RBIs. Weber is 4 for 8 with two doubles and two RBIs in the super regional. … OSU junior shortstop Aiva Arquette owns a nine-game hitting streak that has seen him bat .415 (17 for 41) with a homer, six doubles and six RBIs. … Oregon State pitchers have owned Golden Spikes Award finalist Alex Lodise so far this series, striking him out five times and limiting him to one hit in eight at-bats. … Ten of the 13 runs scored in this series have come with two outs, including all four in Game 2.
