Trent Bray
Bio:
Bray was recruited out of Pullman High School (Washington), where he was a two-time Great Northern League Defensive Player of the Year and was twice named all-state. He became a dominant linebacker at OSU before starting a coaching career that led him to becoming the Beavers defensive coordinator in 2021 and then the head coach this offseason.
Key statistics:
Bray played for the Beavers from 2002-2005, lettering all four years. At one point, he made 34 consecutive starts.
Bray ranks sixth all-time at OSU with 337 career tackles. His 29 career tackles for loss rank tied for 14th.
Bray was named first-team All-Pac-10 in 2005 when he had 116 tackles, eight for loss, and 3 1/2 sacks.
He put up 122 tackles as a junior in 2004 and was named second-team all-conference.
Bray’s 10 tackles in the 2004 Insight Bowl earned him MVP honors.

Steve Brown
Bio:
Brown went to OSU from Porterville High School (California). He began his career as a fullback before moving to linebacker.
Key statistics:
Brown had a school-record 22 tackles and intercepted three passes during a 1971 game against Stanford. That season, he tied for the Pac-8 lead with seven interceptions, which is tied for fifth in program history.
He ended the season with 134 tackles.
Brown came back in 1972 with 186 tackles, 102 solo. Both remain program records.
His 415 career tackles at OSU is a record that might never be broken.
The two-time team defensive MVP was twice named All-Pac-8 and All-Coast.
He earned All-American honors in 1972

Brown was inducted into the Oregon State Athletics Hall of Fame in 1993.
Professional:
Brown was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the seventh round of the 1973 NFL draft. He played briefly in the CLF and WFL before injuries ended his career.

Steve Coury
Bio:
Coury, out of Lakeridge High School, became one of the most prolific wide receivers in OSU history. The all-American’s name still remains in the record books. He became the head coach at Lake Oswego High School in 1992 and has won two state titles.
Key statistics:
Coury was selected first-team All-Pac-10 as a senior in 1979, second-team All-Coast and third-team All-American.
Coury set program records with 1,837 receiving yards and 135 receptions. His yardage total now ranks 14th in OSU history.
Coury scored three touchdowns in one half against Washington State in 1979. That’s tied for the most in program history with Reggie Bynum.
Coury was inducted into the Oregon State University Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
Professional career:
Coury played in the CFL before starting his coaching career.

Terrence Carroll
Bio:
Recruited out of Westfield High School in Houston, Texas, Carroll became one of the most productive defensive backs in OSU history and a key piece of the 2000 defense that led the Beavers to a Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame.
Key statistics:
Carroll began making an impact as a redshirt freshman in 1997 when he had 63 tackles, forced two fumbles, intercepted two passes, and blocked two kicks.
The following season, Carroll produced 55 tackles, five for loss, broke up three passes, and blocked a kick.
Carroll was named honorable mention All-Pac-10 in 1999 despite being somewhat slowed by injuries. Carroll finished the season with 72 tackles and three interceptions.
As a senior in 2000, Carroll was named second-team All-Pac-10 after racking up 102 return yards on four interceptions.
