The authorities said on Sunday that a woman who was 48 years old and had been struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista had significant injuries at the scene.
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the accident took place on Saturday evening at approximately 9:20 p.m., when a female transient was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in the 300 block of Broadway. It was not clear whether she was in a crosswalk that was also designated.
It was said that she was in critical condition when she arrived at the hospital where she was taken. It was decided not to reveal her name.
It was reported by the police that the driver, who was 28 years old and from National City, and his passenger, who was 21 years old, remained at the site and cooperated with the inquiry.
In the beginning, there were no arrests made. There was still an ongoing investigation.
