Police Are Trying to Identify the People Who Were Shot and Killed in North Lubbock, and a Prize is Being Offered

On Sunday, police said they would pay a reward for information that led to an arrest in the north Lubbock shooting late Saturday night, which killed one person and hurt another.

LPD said in a statement that they were first called to the 1200 block of Jarvis Street at 11:20 p.m. Saturday to reports of a fight in the process.

Not long after, police found Adam Hernandez, 36, shot and lying in a car in the 1000 block of North Avenue Q Drive. At the scene, they said he was dead.

The driver, Larry Moreno, who is 37 years old, was also shot. He was taken to University Medical Center by rescue with serious injuries that did not put his life in danger.

The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit took over the probe after Hernandez’s death.

At the start of the investigation, it looked like there was a vocal fight inside a business on the 1200 block of Jarvis Street involving the victims and other people. The fight then moved outside the business and led to several physical fights.

According to the first information, Hernandez and Moreno got into an SUV and drove through the parking lot while fights were going on outside. It looks like when the car stopped, one or more suspects started shooting, hitting both guys inside the car.

It wasn’t long before Moreno pulled over in front of a different shop in the 1000 block of North Avenue Q Drive. There, he was met by patrol officers.

Call the Crime Line at 806-741-1000 if you know anything about this case. There could be a prize of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and identification of the suspect or suspects. Callers can stay unknown.
