Portland graffiti vandal ‘Bambi’ sentenced to probation; another investigation ongoing

A 22-year-old woman known by the tag “Bambi” has been sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to

spraying graffiti across the city

, police announced Thursday.

Darvin V. Duffield pleaded guilty to four counts of criminal mischief in the first- or second-degree earlier this month, Multnomah County court records show.

Police began investigating Duffield after she was caught unmasked spray painting the Kidd’s Toy Museum, 1301 S.E. Grand Ave., in 2023, according to a probable cause affidavit. Her tag was later found on state Transportation Department property, police said.

Police raided her Northwest Portland home on March 31 and recovered nearly 200

spray paint cans,

paint pens and practice tags, and found

numerous photos of graffiti

on her phone, according to the affidavit.

Circuit Judge Eric Dahlin ordered Duffield to pay $10,000 in restitution as part of the plea deal. Her attorney didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Also on Thursday, police said they have identified the tagger Monk6 — one of several who

participated anonymously

in an

online documentary

in May 2024.

Police said they served a search warrant at a Sunnyside neighborhood home linked to Monk6

on July 24, but have declined to identify him. He has not yet been arrested, according to police spokesperson Sgt. Kevin Allen.

The documentary highlighted

Monk6’s high-risk climbing stunts, which allowed him to spread graffiti in especially elevated and prominent positions.
