Produce Recall Affects Walmart Stores in Colorado, Wyoming

According to the Food and Drug Administration, the manufacturer of the product has voluntarily recalled the celery sticks that were sold in Walmart stores in Wyoming and Colorado, in addition to a number of other states.

Which Celery Sticks Are Being Recalled from the Market?

The celery sticks are Marketside Celery Sticks, and before the date of March 23, 2025, they will be at their peak quality. “Marketside Celery Sticks 4 in/1.6 oz Bundle Pack” is the name that is printed on the packaging’s label.

The recall was made by Duda Farm Fresh Foods, the company that was responsible for producing the celery sticks. Celery sticks are the only kind of produce that are subject to the recall; none of the other products manufactured by Duda Farm Fresh Foods are affected.

Following the discovery of multiple samples of celery sticks at a Walmart in Georgia that were determined to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the recall was issued.

Signs and Symptoms: Listeria

”Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and often fatal illnesses in young children, fragile or old persons, and other individuals with compromised immune systems,” the notification from the particular company states. Despite the fact that healthy people may only have short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhoea, an infection caused by Listeria monocytogenes can result in miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

It is important for anyone who has already consumed the celery sticks to keep a close eye out for any associated symptoms. People who are exposed to Listeria do not necessarily grow unwell.

There has not been a single report of any known disease that has been caused by the celery sticks as of yet.

It is possible that individuals have stored the sticks in their freezers after purchasing them, despite the fact that the FDA has said that the sticks are no longer being offered in stores.

Alabama, California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming were among the states that offered the celery sticks for sale at Walmart stores.

The celery sticks should be thrown away by anyone who is in possession of them.
