Report: Bruiser Flint will Replace Kenny Payne at Kentucky

Kenny Payne officially accepted an assistant coaching position with the New York Knicks, UK confirmed in a press release Tuesday.

Payne has been on the Kentucky bench since the 2010-11 season, the first Final Four appearance of the John Calipari era.

Now that the position is open for the first time in a decade, who will Calipari hire to fill huge shoes on the UK bench?

According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Bruiser Flint, a longtime Calipari friend, will be the next assistant coach at Kentucky.

Flint was an assistant coach at UMass while Calipari was there, before taking over the head coaching position when Calipari left.

The Philadelphia native spent 20 years as a Division I head coach and won 331 games while leading Drexel (2001-16) and UMass (1996-01).
