Report: Kentucky Looking at Scheduling a Non-Conference Game this Week

The Kentucky-Texas A&M game scheduled for Tuesday night at Rupp Arena is officially postponed due to COVID-related issues within the Texas A&M program.

The Aggies haven’t played a game since January 30, and now they won’t play the scheduled date at Rupp Arena.

The league has built-in make-up dates scheduled for March 5-7 in case games are postponed due to COVID-19 safety protocols, but a make-up date has not been determined at this time. This is the second league game that has been postponed. UK’s home game against South Carolina, originally slated for Dec. 29, was also postponed.

According to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, Kentucky is looking to schedule an opponent to play this week at Rupp Arena. Given Kentucky’s recent three-game winning streak, Kentucky must play a midweek game to continue building momentum towards the SEC Tournament.

Detroit Mercy is a possible opponent.
