Rookie Yang Hansen and James Bouknight lead Blazers to Summer League win over Rockets

The

Portland Trail Blazers

moved to 3-1 in the 2025 NBA Summer League with a 102-83 win Thursday night over the Houston Rockets at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.

The Blazers, already eliminated from the four-team playoff round this weekend, will play a fifth game this weekend against an opponent yet to be determined.

On a day that saw Blazers’ legend

Damian Lillard return to the franchise

after two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, rookie Yang Hansen, 20, again flashed promising signs that maybe he could help Lillard win in Portland.

Yang scored eight points on 3-of-6 shooting in 23 minutes. He grabbed eight rebounds and handed out five assists while blocking three shots.

Yang, who committed four turnovers, entered the night averaging 11.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2 blocks per game.

Guard James Bouknight led the Blazers with 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Rookie Caleb Love scored 14 but shot just 5 of 16 from the field and 1 of 6 from beyond the arc.

Rayan Rupert did not play.

The Blazers held the Rockets (0-4) to 35.9% shooting and 20% from three-point range.

Portland led 46-40 at halftime but just 67-65 entering the final quarter. There, Portland cranked up the defense while scoring 35 points.
