Sahvir Wheeler chose UK because he wants to win a national title

Georgia transfer guard Sahvir Wheeler announced his plans to transfer to Kentucky during an appearance on The Field of 68 podcast with Jeff Goodman Monday.

Wheeler, a 5-foot-10 point guard, led the Southeastern Conference in assists with 7.4 per game as a sophomore, on his way to being named Second Team All-SEC.

Wheeler chose Kentucky over Kansas, LSU, and Oklahoma State. Kentucky is the choice because he wants to win a national championship.

“I chose the University of Kentucky because it gives me the best opportunity to make a run at a national championship and pursue my dreams of playing in the NBA,” Wheeler said. “I can’t wait to get to Lexington and get to work.”
