Semi-Truck Crash Traps Car, Closes I-10 Westbound for Hours Near Tonopah

TONOPAH, AZ – A portion of I-10 west of the Valley has reopened completely following an incident between a semi-truck and a sedan on Friday morning.

Around 7:45 a.m., the incident occurred in the westbound lanes of I-10 near Tonopah’s milepost 100.

The AZFamily news chopper captured video of a vehicle trapped below the trailer’s back.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle, but his or her current health is unknown. No other injuries were reported.

According to ADOT, the westbound lanes of the highway were closed at Wintersburg Road until being reopened around 10:30 a.m.
